Securing Communities CEO, Tonia Tong, appears on Fox40 News

CEO of Securing Communities, Tonia Tong, appears on local news to discuss how the rising costs of street parking is affecting her staff and local Sacramento business.

Our CEO of Securing Communities appeared on the news this past week on Fox 40 News in Sacramento, where she and other local business owners discuss the difficulties of the parking situation in downtown Sacramento.

In the news segment, they discuss the negative affects the proposed raise of parking fees and how it will potentially have a negative affect on their businesses down the line. In short, during Tonia’s piece she explains how overall the parking situation is already not ideal, and raising parking meter rates  frankly “hurts the consumer, it hurts us.”

She goes on to discuss how her employees often are forced to park on the outskirts of town, far away from their designated sites they are scheduled to be at for the day. They then rent scooters to commute into the city due to increased parking meter prices and general inaccessibility of parking in Sacramento as a whole.

While there are many people interviewed for this segment, you can listen to Tonia’s part specifically at the 1:15 timestamp.
